BABY CAPNIVAL.
That tile Baihy Carnival is how in full swing in .Shannon was evidenced on Saturday when the oominittee representing the Farmears’ Baby conducted a street stall. They spared no effort to dispose of their stock of produce, etc., with the result that they did good business, thus considerably augmenting their fund. During the day the following competitions were held, the winners (being —Pair of ducks, No. 56, Mrs Raiwlanson; dinner, No. 47, B. Hudson; puppy No. 66, correct Nlo. 64, S. Richardson. This evening the Farmers’ B'aiby Committee will hold a dance in the Parish Hall. Dances for both old and young will be on the programme, alsoi the latest in novelty dances, and as the price of admission is wdlthin the reach of all a large attendance is anticipated. Arrangements are well to the fore by the Town Baby Committee for their monster children’s fancy dress ball to be held in the Druids’ Hall on Friday evening, March 19th, and it is hoped to commence the practices at an early date. The Farmers’ Committee have been successful in securing the catering privileges at the Shannon Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club's Sports, to be held on Saturday, March 27th. On behalf of the Mangalhao candidate (Master Eddie Matthews) a dance and social will, be held at ■ .the staff bach at Mangaore on Thursday evening. '
