QUARTEHLY MEETING. The Horowhenua Patriotic Society met on Wednesday aftennoon in the Y.M.C.A. rooms, Leyin, Mr P. W. Goldsmith being in the chair. Also present: Messrs h M. Richards, G, C. Cajtley, W. E. Kilsby, W* Murdoch, A. McLeavey, and the secretary, Mr F. P. Walkley. ' ' The National War Funds Council sent their customlary report in connection with their operations. In some oases applications lor loans were declined, three only being granted. A large number of loan repayments were acknowledged and in this connection the members remarked upon the favourable financial conI dition of the Society jn this respect. | Mr W. Murdoch, who is leaving the I district for TanamaM, tendered his resignation. Mr P. W. GoMsmfflh, in accepting this, remarked upon the departing member's unfailing atten-, tion and eare in relation to the Society's affairs.
