LEVIN SALEYARDS.
A GOOD CLEARANCE. Offerings wes e especially heaivy in all departments of Tuesday's salt stock at the Levin sale-yards, providing a good sale Lhrough-out, practically everything b-.-ing sold. In view of the recent drop in fat stock, the sale was exceptional. Ewes sold on account of Mr. H. Smith, Paekakariki, brought 24s 9d, Popanui station ewes 14s 6d, 5-year-01l ewes entered by Mr. H. C. .Swainson, from 18s to 21s apiece. Details of the general entries were. Sheep:—4-tooth ewes 275; good 2tooth ewes 28s CI: 5-year-old ewes 18s; small 2-tooth ewes 17s 6d to 235; forward 2-tooth wethers 22s lOd to 2is; woolly lambs l:'s 3d to 17s 9d; shorn lamfe 5s lOd to 13s; fat wethers 25s 3d to 26s 7d; Romi.ey 2-too'th rams- £2 2s to £5 ss; S.D. i ams £3 10s to £5 ss. Cattle:—Fat cows £3 17s 6d to £4 6s; light cows £3 12s 6d; vealers £1 to 255; stores 30s to 3<>s": empty •heifers 22s 6d; bulls £2 12s 6d to £4 2s 6d; springing heifers £5 15s to £6 7s 6d. •s~sp.—Stares 23s to 255; small stores 12s to 17s; weaners 10s; porkers 33s to £2 ss; Baconers £3 5s to £4.
