PLUNKET SOCIETY BABY CARNIVAL
THE MANGAHAO BABY. • On Thursday last an enthusiastic gathering of Mangahao residents decided to adopt little Eddie Matthews as their candidate in the forthcoming Baby Carnival. A strong working committee -was formed with Mr w: A. Hutton as chairman, Mrs Hutton as Hon. Treasurer, and Mr R. J. White as Hon. Secretary. Dances, socials, etc., were arranged and many other novelties suggested whereby funds can be raised for this worthy object. As a quiet piece of advice to other "Balby Committees," the Mangahao reps.' trainer warns them to get their houses in order quickly lor the Hy-dro-ifces are firmly coniviinoed that they have trie winner in their charge. Like all true champions, "Prince Eddie" lies low and "ses muffin," but just watch his smoke as he climbs to the top of the poll.
