WANDERING STOCK.
COUNTY OWNERS FINED,
'At the Magistrate's Court, Levin, yesterday, before Messrs Goldsmith and Inder, J.'s P., 2.6 stack-owners were called upon to give explanations in respect of infringements of the County by -laws, by allowing their stock to stray along the roads. Fines were inflicted as follows: J. S. Willis, 20s and costs 13s, lor permitting 5 cows to wander on the main road at Manakau.; M. Burke, 10s and costs 13s, for allowing 5 cows to wander in the Manakau township. R. T. Day, 7s 6d and costs 13s, for allowing one cow to wander in the Manakau township. ,S. K. Lee, 5s and costs 12s, allowing one horse to be at large on the Ohau West road. Young Ford, 10s and costs 19s, for allowing a horse to wander on the Ohau West Road. Wera Perara, 30s and costs 13s, permitting one bull to be at large on the Uhau West Road. W. Smith, 2s 6d and costs 12s, allowing .two horses to wander on the' Muhunoa West Road. J. Cameron, 2s 6d and costs 10s, allowing one cow to wander on the Main County Road. A. Newport, 2s 6d and costs 10s, for permitting one of his cows to stray along the County Road, Olhau. P. Drake, 2s 6d and costs 10s, allowing two cows and one horse on the County Road, Ohau. M. Mudgway, 2s 6d and costs 10s, two of his cows being found on the County Road. A. Campbell, £2 and costs 15s, 4 cows of his being found on the County Road, Tokoonaru. L. Jamieson, 20s and costs 15s, 18 of whose cows were found wandering on the Main Road a,t Tokomaru.
H. Wilton, 20s and costs 15s, allowing one cow to wander in Tokomaru. G. Simpson, 40s and costs 325, for allowing 2 cows to wander in Tokomaru and one cow oh the County Road, Tokomaru. C. Hewetson, 5s and costs 15s, permitting 2 cows to stray within the Tokomariu township. E. L, Soper, 5s and costs 9s, for allowing 12 cows to wander in Lindsay Road, Levin. H. Jacob, 15s and costs 12s, having permitted 5 cows and 5 horses to be at large on Beach Road, Weraroa. • D. Simeon, 15s and costs 12s, 4 of whose horses were found on the Beach Road. Wild Hanita, 15s and costs 10s,' permitting one calf and one horse to wander on Beach Road. Paki Prime, 15s and costs. 10s, allowing 3 cows to stray on Beach Road. Paki Prime, 25s and costs 7s, having allowed 2 horses to wander along Beach Road. H. Whare, 15s and costs 10s, 2 cows and 2 calves of his having strayed on to Beach Road. •Mrs Masters, 15s and costs 9s, permitting 2 cows to be at large on the Beach Road.
