' * STORY OF SAILOR'S FIOMT. LONDON, January 2(i. Renter's correspondent at Tokio says it is officially reported that an American seaman. was severely v.ounded during a quarrel at Hakodate on Sunday. He was dying in hospital the nest day. The ship's captain visited the Governor of Hakodate lor the purpose of exculpating the Japanese, as the seaman was intoxicated and started a fight. The Governor thanked the captain, but expressed his intention to punish those who had killed the seaman. They had already been arrested.
