The company was in Wianganui when the lady became acquainted with- a gentleman and the couple decided to get married. There were only a few hours in which to obtain the special license and, this having been done, they repaired to the registrar's office, only to find that the official had just gone home. The bridegroom then took a hand in affairs, and to stimulate matters gave the cow a hearty smack ,on the back. The domesticated animal resented such famiiliarity, kicked the bucket, and sent the mlilk flying, deposited, the registrar in a_very undignified position "oh his back and careered round the yard.
