The swallowing of a signet ring about a fortnight"ago resulted iai tli-e. death at the Auckland Hospital early on Saturday morning of Mr David Marshall, aged 40, who resided at Onehunga. .' • , Mi- Marshall was admitted to the hospital on December 26, having swallowed the ring a/bout a week previously. An operation was performed on the evening of his admission, but proved unavailing.
