ENGINEER'S REPORT. ■ t Kerportißg to the Power Board on Tuesuay, the, engineer, Mr. J. A. Smith, said: — , Line Construction.—Tlie pole gang have been working = at Paraparaumu Valley Koad, - Waikanac Beach Boad, and Kikiorangi Valley, and have erected 18-J' poles. They also pulled out some of the wire at Paraparaumu Valley in order to help the wiring gang get this area connected up for thel ' shearing season. They also off-loaded j poles at Levin and Waikanae railway; yards. ' I No. 1 Wire Gang cleaned and street light fittings in Shannon Borough, put down a bank of earth pipes ami erected a sot of lightning arresters at the sub-station at Seifert's mill. Also erected 19 . service poles, ran '< chains of wire, 9 services and completed No.' 2 Foxton sub, and livened up this area.
No. 2 Wire Gang have erected 7 Service poles, ran 1286 chains of wire and <) services, completed the lightning arresters on Muhunoa Road East, and To Horo loop, erected line switch on Manakau North Koad, and also, ran 19/16 along Queen Street from Oxford Street to new sub. No. 3 Wire Gang, working on Paraparauniu Beach Koad, Paekalcarikj. Paraparaumu Valley Road and Waikanac Beach Road, have erected 5 service, poh'.d, ran 17 services and 1412 chains of wire. They have painted the street lighting fittings in Packakariki, erected cradle and guards under the Government line at Paraparaumu Vallev Road. No. 4 Wire Gang, working in Levin, Foxton, Ohau, Manakau and Otaki, have erected 12 service poles, ran 18 services find 814 chains of wire. They ran the E.H.T. from Tiro Tiro Uoadl along Queen Street, Levin, to the new, sub; also did llio noco:«»a:y cutting, out, to* isolate the area served from the. main sub. ' Sub-station Fitters have Paraparaumu Valley Road, No. 2 Fov- ' ton, -Spier's mill and. Quaen Street subs, working on subs Waikanae Beach Road, North Manakau Eoacf and Simcox's..
Installations.—During the period a group has been formed at Raumati Beach and Waikanae Beach, but several applications are still to come in from these areas. In McDonald Road '6 consumers have been signed up, comprising 2 milking motors and 3 houses. C. B. Gilmour is making good progress with the installations on Manakau North Road. I 'expect to have some of them livened up in the course of a few days. Test Room.—2o Polyphase and 02 single phase meters have been tested. 6 ranges tested, and dried out and 10 ranges delivered to consumers. j New Consumers— The more important consumers connected up during the period are, Hotel Arcadia, 38 lights; Ross, Rough flaxmill, 40 h.p. y The following hare been connected
• up: 47 new consumers, 19 ranges, 32 ■ water heaters. 10 milking motors, and I 15 consumers have applied for extensions. Workshop.—Details of work done were given. Gen'eral. —Mr.. Barber and I met representatives r>r the Manawatu Countv Council and Fnxton Borough Council lon the spot with reference to the i County Council's request for us to alter I thf position of our polo at the corner I of Purcell Street and Whirokino Roai and it was decided that the road be given a greater sweep at the corner •which would give the necessary improvement wit V-it mov'ng the pole. i The report -i-<i« adopted.
