FASHIONS IN BOOTS.
After eleven vears of almost com pletc banishment boots will be Ue fashion for women this winter (says an English paper of recent date). \nd for men the fashion will be—coloured boots to match their suits. These are the two forecasts of tue footwear experts and the manufacturers are preparing their stock on their advice. Many beautiful skins will bo utilised for women's boots, including snake, shark, lizard and crocodile, and these will be / supplemented by many colours in suede to match autumn drGssc^ Th'e 'new military heel, which will be rather high, is expected to be popular, and another feature will be a new round toe. A craze from Paris is expected to "take on" in England. Women who have lost pet dogs through illness or accident are having the skins of their pets dressed, tanned and dyed and thoil made into footwear to be worn by the "bereaved" mistress. Jewelled heels are, it is stated, also to be popular for drawing-room or dress wear. Men's boots, it is stated, will be m reds, blues, greens and browns.
