MOSQUITO BITE DEATH.
SEQUEL TO GAME OP GOLF. A mosquito bite received while playing gblf over the course of the South Herts Club is believed to have been the cause of the death of Mr. Lawrence .1. IManogue, a.Civil Servant empolyed at the Post Office, at BaVry Hospital. Mr. Manogue, who lived at' Loraine Mansions, Holloway, N., wa s oji holiday, and broke his journey 10 Ireland on August 31 to visit Dr. and Mrs. P. D, Richards,, of Barry Dock. He complained of feeling un. well, and a septic' spot developed. After ho played golf at Southerdown the bite became more painful, and he Was removed to hospital, where an operation was performed. He- sue. oumbed following a relapse. Mr. Manogucv was hon. secretary of the Irish Club,- Russell Square, and Alitor of the club journal. He was secretary of the London-Irish Golfing Society, and a member of tlie South llci ts Golf Club. For some years he was well known in the metropolis as ui? athlete.
