THREATENED RACIAL CLASH ALARMING PICTURE OP SOUTH AFRICA. The blacks are developing a contentious spirit and colour consciousness, under the lead of natives educated in America who are bragging that their function is to lead the primitive tribes In a racial struggle .Such conditions may end in rebellion, meaning, first, a massacre of the scattered whites, anu then a massacre of the half.armed ' natives.

When the Prince of Wales recently reviewed 4000 natives, who wore their tradional fighting kit, and fea_ thers, were armed with assegais and knobkerries, and were singing- their war chant, punctuated by the stab, bing of imaginary foes, a South South African officer told me that every song was a veiled threat. Meanwhile, pretty bare-armed European girls were being graphed with these warriors, as if it were at Wembley side-show. 'The police have discovered the existence of a bloodthirsty native secret society, named 'Omalita,' whose members each swear to ravish a virgin and murder a man before \ they die. Only an increase of the whites can prevent their extinction."
