BOWLING AND CROQUET.
LABOUR DAY TOURNAMENTS. The. members of the-. Shannon Bowling and Croquet Clubs spent a mos. enjoyable day .yesterday when progressive pairs tournaments were prayed. There was a good muster u. members of but i ciubs and during the day the games were watched with interest by a number of spectators. Some good games were witnessed and there were many- close flnisiies. The players were lavoured with a line uay, although it became' rather cold in the alternoon. Bowling commenced at B.BU a.m. and three games of one hour each and two of U. hours were played, at the conclusion of winch it was fonod that Mr A. H. .Morgan liau won the skips prize, having worn all his games. Mr Newton secured the leads prize with four wins. The following are the bowling results:— Skips:' Morgan 5 wins, E. Spencer 4, Gunning and Whibley 3 each, E. Butt 2t.j, Bovis, B. Spencer, Murray, Ktmwjes and Gagiiardi 2 each, Jones H, and Clayton 1. Leads: Newton 4, Beard 3J, Watterston, Mason and H;. Butt 3 each, Tliwaites 2-J; White, McLachlan, Braun and Blaikie 2 each, Blight and Hudson 1£ each. The winners Of the croquet, play taking-place on both lawns, were Mrs Clayton and Mrs Watterston, who thus win tile two trophies which were so generously donated by Mrs Aim. During the day .refreshments were provided by both clubs and a most happy day was, brought to a conclusion by cheers for the winners.
