OCTOBER MEETING. All the members .were present at Saturday’s meeting of the Hornvheliuii County Council, over which Cr. Monk, County chairman, presided. TOKOMARU MATTERS.. From limes and ydkley, . solicitors lor Temukanui, Ltd.f endusihg memorandum of dedication*of i-'iMd from the latter to the Crown over-a str/p of land in hie County which- is L being formed into a road, and .asking to have same endorsed.—Resolved .to have this signed and sealed. Tokomaru Flaxmill Co., Ltd., asked permission to lay a tram •line along the public road at Tokomaru on thenorth, .side of the railway line, from their llaxmill on section 48, Tokomaru, to junction with the tram-line on the Ashli’.a-Ten 1 ukanul road. —Referred to Gr. Whyte and the engineer shannon matters. Shannon branch of die Plunket Society appealed lor'funds,-.-to'assist, in ■ equipping the rooms which had bean opened.—Resolved to grant £2 2s to 'the funds of the Society. Mr J. Swindlehurst, through his solicitor, requested that he be allowed access along ‘ the public road from the Buckley. Road to. the northern boundary of the land known as Alana-watu-Kdkutauaki 3, Section 2D2. The road from Buckley Road to-the boundary uf the above property is at present only partially fenced and a portion of the road is 'Occupied by ea i e!i . of the adjoining owners, -Messrs Stern ‘ and Saxon, who liave erected p f»a\e. - at the point where the road joins the Buckley Road, and another gate about half way down the road. perty of which he is the -occupier.— Referred t-o- Cr. Barber and the Engineer GENERAL, . A. Ross, Rough and Co., wrote.in regard to the Levin-Foxton road, pointing out that they were to have carted TOO yards of gravel or, failing this,, to--pay at the rate of 10s per .yard. They had now contributed £4O in cash and carted three or four lorry loads and the company considered they had, therefore, carried out their arrangement with the Council. —Held over to enable the Engineer to make necessary enquiries. ! The Pearce Butchery Co., Arapaepae Road, Levin, made application for the license of a slaughter-house. —Granted conditional- upon everything being in order. Mr 11. G. Nicholas, Ohau, requested permission to dig a drain on the road along lbs lioundary in order to connect, with another drain and thereby prevent the road water from draining on to his property. A. culvert, stated the writer, put under the road ,would be of great benefit to the road. —Referred to Cr. Catley and the Engineer. Mr 11. B. Wise, the Avenue, Levin, applied for a culvert from the road to his property, and also asking to be supplied with nine yards of crushed metal from the pit.—Referred to the engineer with power to act,
