WANDERING STOCK.

At the Levin Court on Friday be--I'iOire Messrs T. Browm and E. S. Lancaster, J.'sP., the Horowhenua County Council brought a number of charges against owners of stock for permitting them to wander on the County roads. Mr G. The Ranger said this cow had been frequently on -ho road and the owner had oem before the Court on several occasions.

Charged with allowing four cows to be at large on Iho road at Porouta whao on August 31st and three cows on September 4th, Hemi Hohia was fined £1 and costs lis on the first charge and 5s with 7s costs on the second charge. On the first occasion the cows were on the road at night time, while on the other occasion, which was in the morning, the owner alleged they were being taken to the paddock. Winiata Pata.ka, for allowing three horses to be at- large on the 'Beach Road, Levin, was fined £1 with costs 7s.

Jacob Utiku, 'for allowing a mare and foal to graze on Ihe Levin-Foxton road was fined 15s with costs lis.
