DENIS KEHOE SEASON.

Denis KehOie, the romantic actorsinger, ana a strong supporting company, will present! the play “Mother Macluee” for a. season of one night at tlie Maori land Theatre ,on Tuesday, next, October 6th. The plot of the play is a'touching and appalling one, ieplete with romance and the pathos of life. Tiie words will he embellished by beautiful old-time songs and old-time music played on the harp.’ Denis Kelioe knows his work and the force of his romantic acting wins its way with the audience right from the start. Maurice Wehlein, author "of “Mother Machree,” lias taken ah Irish family, than whom no class is fonder of the ancestral soil, and me grasping administrator of an absentee owner, who seeks to, avenge his private spleen upon them, and has concocted an interesting little romance, introducing types of characters whose briskness and readiness of repartee enliven the more sombre aspects of the story. As Dan O’Connor, elder son of “Mother Machree,” Denis Kehoe presents a chivalrous type whose mercurial spirits find vent in the songs of his country, sung to.the accompaniment of the little Irish harp. In support appears Frances Ivayher as Rose O’Dare, a-charming visitor, who radiates, the delicate grace and col-, ■our of, the flower for which she is named. Helen Fergus in the sympathetic role of “pother Machree,” Ronald Riley, Gwen Dorise, Aileon Dunne, Tom Buckley, Bernard Beeby, Charles Keegan and Lester Carey also appear in characters that, call for skilled interpretation. The season is limited to one night, and the plan is now open at Mrs Rawlinson’s.
