."SPENCER STRATTON MAKES RECORDS. Six world’s grass track records were broken in one day by Spencer Stratton, the brilliant young New Zealander, at Deagon race track, Brisbane, recently. The large crowd of spectators were electrified by his - thrilling feats.' Tearing along at 78 m.p.'h. on a 7 h.p. Indian, he went over a mile in 46 1-5 secs. Then lie repeated the distance on a 3J h.p. Indian reaching the sensational speed of 76| m.p.li., astounding for a low-powered machine, and cut the record down to 47 secs. Over a distance of three miles he made new records of 2min. 21secs., and 2inin. 25.), secs. for 7 h.p. and 3.} h.p. machines respectively. Over the five mile distance liis times were 3 min. 58 secs., and 4 min. 8 secs. All these times are world’s records. Stratton tackled these distances following his remarkable successes at the Brisbane Motor Cycle Club’s big carnival at Deagon the previous Saturday, when he was placed in every event, winning the 15 miles all power championship of Queensland, and the five miles Sidecar Handicap. The crowd acclaimed him the wonder of the day and Brisbane newspapers are enthusing over his great performance. Local sportsmen will be interested in the progress the young Levinite is making across the Tasman and will heartily congratulate him on the effective manner in which he has “astonished the natives” in the Northern State,
