GOLF NOTES.
la spite of tile atrocious weather during the Week and the threatened conditions for Saturday a large number of golfing enthusiasts turned out on the local links and took part in the match arranged between Shannon mid Mangaore. The result of the meeting were in favour in Shannon which team won the majority of the games, besides have the lower aggregate- score. The grounds were in remarkably good order and the greens were us good as they have been at any time during the season. It would he difficult to find any golf links as dry after such heavy rain. Providing the punt at the Shannon bridge is in working order next Saturday a team of twelve ladies and six men will visit Foxton. and play a return match with the Herrington Club. The following Shannon players have been selected to* make the trip:—Johnston, J. Murray, Jones, White, R. Moody, Burgis, Mrs Johnston, Miss Sinclair, Miss G. Goodwin, Miss Saxon, Miss Cole, Mrs Hutton, Mrs Spencer, Miss Williams, Miss Huffani, Mrs C'ronquest, Miss Watterston, Mrs Ross. Any of the above not able to travel are requested to notify the hon. secretary as soon as possible. Bus will leave Cochrane’s, Garage at 1.45 pan.
