MANAWHENUA COLLAPSES.

AFTER LEADING AT INTERVAL. WELLINGTON, Sept. 27. Before a small attendance, the Wellington rep team defeated the combined Manawatu-Horowhenua team by 38 to 12. Wellington lacked many prominent players that were included in the team defeated by Auckland. The standard of play was not of a hightorder. The visitors had the better -of the game in the first spell, in which they were assisted by the wind and sun.

Wellington was thus enabled to run up a big score. The local forwards made the game loose in the final stages and put in some effective combined work, winch resulted in several tries being scored. The Manawhenua) scorers were: McLean (2), and Anderson tries? Jacob, a penalty goal. Brophy sprained an ankle, five minutes after starting, but painfully limped through the game. WELLINGTON, v.
