CIRCUS AND ZOO.
TO-NIGHT. Perry Bros.’ and Eroni’s large united Circus and Zoo, opens at Shannon for one night, only to-night, September 16th. Some of the principal features on an exceptionally brilliant programme are the Flying Herbertsons; the Daredevil Dalzellos; Almo, the Human Aeroplane; the mighty Mulgoon; Capt. MontaeiTs performing Lions and Tigers; Jumbo, the tusked trained elephant; Eroni’s fifteen wonders; Lone Star, the re-cord-breaking high-jumping pony; the Sahara Troup of Arabs, and Alberto and Sharp, the cleverest acrobatic wire walkers ever seen in the Southern Hemisphere. Other noteworthy numbers are the Five Perrys, distinguished acrobats and springboard-flyers; James and Evans, astounding perch and ladder balancers; the three Dolly Vardens, iron-jawed marvels, and Oliver Jack and his troupe of Continental clowns and dummies. Amongst the thirty trained horses and ponies are Dempsey and Firpo, the boxing ponies; Commodore, the football pony, and Tommy, who counts, smokes, dances, and displays extraordinary intelligence. The managerie, comprising animals from all parts of the Globe, includes Leo, the largest lion in Australasia.
