NEW DANCE RULES
CRUSADE IN’ BEDEAST. CAMPAIGN AGAINST SMOKING. LONDON, August 25. The crusade against all-night dancing, instituted by Aclibisliop O’Donnell, of Belfast, .lias resulted in the proprietors of dance-lialls, after a conference with the clergy, agreeing to the strictest regime. The; new rules will abolish all-night dances, functions closing at 10.30 p.m., and will prohibit dances which the 1 clergy consider “bad and dangerous. M * Dancers suspected of being of im-: moral character will be excluded. ! Following an American evangelist’s denunciation of smoking, a largo section of the congregation in the Presbyterian Hall, Belfast, formed a queue to the moderator’s table, and covered it with pipes, tobacco , pouches, cigars. and gold and silver cigarette cases.
