Vessel Brought to Wharf
WATER MAKES LITTLE IMPRES. SION. AUCKLAND, Sept; 3. The Kent has been berthed at Queen's wharf. The fire evidently maintains a powerful hold. The water is not making any marked impression. The Kent discharged 5000 tons of cargo far Auckland. Tiie balance aboard is lor Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin, and includes 1500 tons in the No. 2 hold, to which it is still hoped the fire may be confined.
