MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEET
The Management Committee for the Hoiowhenua disLuct of the amalgamation met on Tuesday, those pres ent being Messrs Runnier (chairman). Sloan (representing the Referees' Association), Caruiiohael (secretary), Robertshaw, Frechiling, Austin, McDonald, Anderson, 11 utchens, Hannan, McMillan, Robinson., Apologies were received irom Messrs Procter and Peters. Advice was received from the Hawkes Bay Union that further consideration hail been given to the ao peal of the Horownenua Union for a match to be played in Levin between • teams from both unions, but the committee of the Hawkes Bay Union have definitely decided it was unable to send a team litis season. Whilst regretting this, action, they were prepared to consider a match being played during next .season.—Received.
A report was received from Mr S. Head, referee at the ■ Foxton-Hui Mai Nash Cup match, stating he had occasion to order off Wallace, a llui Mai player, for kicking a Foxton player while the latter was on the ground. The Committee resolved that the player stand down until he makes an appearance before the Union to answer the allegation. All matches aae to be postponed till September 12th, with the exception of the final between Weraroa and Otaki third grade teams which will be played as a curtain-raiser to the referees' match on September sth. Similarly, the Foxton v. Shannon Fourths match will be played as a curtain raiser to the Muiiawatu-Horowhenua rep. game to be played at Foxton next Saturday.
