LIVELY BARLEY.
SURPRISE FOR FARMER. LONDON, August 10. Surprising results which have been achieved following the sowing ol Pryor's Chevalier barley, from houtn Australia, are recounted in the Brewers' Journal. A Norfolk farmer named Groom sowed grain on March 14 and --n May 23 the barley was 3ft high with the'ear well advanced, whereas English seed plants we're only 6in. high. PTm'm.ATNS REPORTED.
