LEVIN MARKET.
PIG PRICES EASIER. Although the offering of pigs was equal to previous weekly sales, the quotations were slightly lower at the Levin yards yesterday. Fat ewe prices were equal to recent sales, but the quality of animal was not so good. A few yearling steers found their way to the yards, but they were only of the rough variety. Prices obtained in the respective sections were:— , Cows.—Forward condition £3 to £■* ss, stores 35s to £2 15s, heifers m forward condition £3 Bs, empty yearling heifers £3 to £3 Bs, springing heifers £3 10s to £6 ss, dairy, cows £4 to £5 10s, small heifers m calf to Shorthorn £2 5s to £2 11s, cows and calves £2 17s, fat cows £6 10s to £.l 15s, fat heifers £8 15s. yearling steers (rough cullers) £3 10s. Pigs.—Weaners 13s to 23s 6d, stores 25s 6d to 355, light porkers £2 to £2 10s, baconers £3 2s 6d. Sheep _Fat ewes £2, fat hoggets 30s 6d, aged ewes in lamb to Romneys 365, 2-tooth wethers 38s. 2d, mixed sex hoggets 27s 4d to 29s 3d.
