The men slept on chairs, j window ledges, piano tops, the cold | concrete floor or anywhere else where j there was a flat surface a foot or more \yide. Supper supplies were exhausted long before midnight, latex arrivals resorting to the inevitable chewing gum. Blankets were issued to the men.
