DRAINS ON BEACH ROAD. Mr R. R. Harris, Levin, made application for a 12-inch -pipe culvert on his property in Beach Road, and m s,oi doing it was pointed out that ne proposed to instal a drain round the foot of the hill to shut off the water from the swamp and the culvert would be needed to cany the water into the Hokio Stream. Also, the swamp, which it was proposed to drain, adjoins the formed road, and any improvement effected would improve the foundation of the road. The Engineer said the request was a reasonable one, and the writer wanted an outlet across the Coun y road for the water from his land. Cr.
