CAR OVERTURNS AT FOXTON.

MANAWATU POWER BOARD ENGINEER SERIOUSLY HURT. While proceeding to Wellington yesterday to attend the Power Board conference in company with Ms wife and son, Mi W. A. Waters, Chief Engineer of tlie Manawufu-Oroua Power Board, met with an accident at Foxtail. - When turning the bend near the Victoria Park, the front tyre on the driver’s side- blew out and though Mr Waters, an experienced motorist, made every endeavour to steer the bar round iLo bend, the vehicle went straight forward and. turned a somersault-, pinning the occupants underneath. Fortunately assistance was quickly and all were extricated. Mrs Waters and her son escaped with only a few bruises, but suffered a severe shock. Mr Waters was removed to the Palmerston North Hospital. Though the patient was conscious throughout the ordeal, it is believed that he has received a. fracture of the base of his skull.
