“IDLE TONGUES.” A beautiful romance is unfolded in • “Idle Tongues,” 'Thomas H. Ilnce’s new First National picture which is adapted from the Joseph C. Lincoln novel of Cape Cod life, “'Doctor Nye. It is the story of a village doctor who very nearly sacrifices Ills life ? s happiness to protect the name of a woman. The story is full of surprises and dramatic climaxes. Percy Marmont and Doris Kenyon are in the leading roles, supported hy Malcolm MacGregor, Lucille Ricksen and a cast of well-known character actors. It. will be screened at -the Maoriland Theatre on Wednesday. “SHADOWS OF PARIS,”—FRIDAY. “Shadows of Paris” is a story of the underworld and society of this gay city. Pola Negri is the star, and Miolplie Menjou, Charles de Roche and Huntly Gordon are the featured players. Poli Negri plays almost a dual rolg. She is. the famous “Blackbird” warned by’ the. police, and then she is no more, and in her place comes Glame, the mystery woman of Paris. Bustill there are secret visits to her old haunts, the Cafe Boule. Then one night she sees Fernand, her Apache lover, reported dead at the front years ago and now she was married to another. Then the shrill police whistles grim warning of swift raids, and she barely escapes. The police again have to report failure to capture the Blackbird. This story of the dens of the underworld will thrill everyone.
