PILOTLESS AEROPLANE.
NEW WAR TERROR. "The pilotless aeroplane controlled by wireless, which will be sent over towns and trenches to bomb them, will be the greatest factor in the next war. Improvements in every type of machie have made such strides since the Armistice that it is safe in saying that what we are producing to-day are 150 per cent, better and more efficient than the aeroplanes used during the last war." This statement was made to a representative of the London "Morning Post" by Mr. Fokker, orte of the world's best-known aeroplane manufacturers. "The experiments in pilotless machines which have been carried out in the countries since the war, he continued, have been made in the greatest secrecy, but results tend to show that there is now not the slightest impediment to the perfection of the wirecontrolled aeroplane. lam of opinion, however, that these machines should be built specially for wireless control, and that experiments should not be made with a view of adapting present machines to become pilotless." Mr. Fokker added: "The preaent type of light fighting machine has lost, and is losing more and more every day its power to manoeuvre. lam studying the question, and hope to construct a machine which will be quite efficient in this respect without sacrificing either speed or weight."
