WITNESS CORRECTS COUNSEL. AUCKLAND, July 7.. The differing in tlie pronounc'iation of the word “year” by a barrister and a Dalmatian, who was giving evidence, ■ caused -some amusement at .the Supremo Court. Counsel, in the course of a cross-examination, asked the witness in what year he made nut. a certain account, hut the man replied that lie did not understand, and did not think he had heard tiie word before. The question w.as repeated, and finally the Dalmatian, with a look of understanding, replied: “Now you say it two or three times 1 understand. You call it, yah, and 1 call it in broken English year.”
