“THE MEASURE OF A MAN.”
cm Monday, “The Measure of a Man,” a Universal picture, is coming to the Maoriland. William Desmond, star of many Western features made by Universal, stars in this story, which was adapted for tiie screen from a novel written by Norman Duncan. Tiie story is located in a small settlement close to the logging camps of the North woods; a squalid place where human parasites lay iii wait for the logger. Primarily tiie story deals with the efforts of a Bowery derelict, redeemed through tiie instrumentality of a mission worker, to bring some measure of (better living to the acceptance of the logger. In Swamps End, notorious settlement in the great North Woods, he finds opposition of tiie saloonkeeper and the gambler, hut he hatters them into realization that the Gospel may he represented by one who knows how to use his fists.
