TO DEVELOP DAIRY FARMS
Development of a distinctly dairy community within 50 miles of Winnipeg ana the settlement of from 300 to 400 families, involving on expenditure approaching 2,000,000d01., within the next few years is assured according to an announcement by Robert Jacob, M.L.A., legal representative of the Manitoba Dairy Farms, Limited. Financed by St. Paul, Minn., capital, some 70,000 acres of land,, southwest of Winnipeg on the Canadian National Railway near Marchand, nave been developed to such a stage that at least 25 families will be installed on ready-made farms within the next two ffiontbs. 1 The scheme calls for the allocation \to each settler of 160 acres of land, with twenty acres broken and ready for crop, a comfortable home, barn, silo and ten head of grade milch cattle. The investment of capital for buildings, stoei; and equipment wil be in excess o. 1,000,000d01., exclusive of the land. New settlers will be brought to Manitoba from the United States and Europe, and all will be carefully selected.
