NOTES ON SATURDAY'S SENIOR PLAY.
(By Old Rep.) Hunt, a.t full back, played a good game and saved Shannon irom defeat. His collaring was good. Sheehan, as centre, was a very safe player, but he missed Williams and Lenihan’s help. T. McDonald (half) played a good game while his condition lasted. Tohi (second five-eighth) was out of liis space and played >a very poor game. His position is in the forwards, where lie shone in previous McKenzie (first five-eighth) is a sale player, but wants to do all the scoring. He would do far better to pass the ball on instead of nursing it as he does. . , Ransfield (wing three-quarter) never had a chance of showing his skill. The players starved him by keeping the ball instead of passing it on. H, McDonald understands the hooking game and position, but is tar' too slow for senior football. T. Pannikin is a good worker, but too slow for senior play. ' . Johansen seems to be the best hneout man Shannon has. Moynihan played his usual good game, but is inclined to pass off tne ground. , A. Sturgeon is showing improved form and should be useful to the team before the season finishes-. L. Dalzell, at wing three-quarter, was a failure. It cannot be expected to play a young forward player m that position. He should be given his old place as forward. Marsh was placed as a hooker, playing his usulal fine game in that P °Fitzgerald (forward) is a very good worker in the forward. Caldwell was fairly out of place as wing forward.
