As soon as the water was discovered t„ have found its way through, steps were immediately taken to rem ve the stock to higher ground, which was a difficult job owing to the darkness, but fortunately ail ed without loss. Smce the cut has been put in a large volume of watei from Linton now comes down the Tokomaru stream.
