CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. At the Addington market, there wore smaller yardings of fat la mbs. Sheep and cattle penned to-day than last week, but all other classes were well represented. ■ Store Sheep.— A large entry came forward. Sales were on a lower basis all round than last week,'with the exception of the more forward wethers. Forward cross-bred wether lambs made 24/10 to 26/-; ordinary, 21/- to 23/C; small, 18/8 to 20/-; good halfbred, 23/4 to 26/3; small half-bred, l</6 to 19/10; two-toothed half-bred, ewes, 24/2 to 35/-; two-toothed Romney cross ewes, 33/8; four, six and eight-toothed Romney cross ewes, 33/- to 39/-; five-year-old cross-bred ewes, 38/- to 81/6; aged, <l4/- to 19/-; good aged half-bred ewes, 24/6 to 30/-; forward four, six and eighttoothed half-bred wethers, 84/- to ss/7; ordinary, 28/- to 31/6; twotoothed three-quarterbred wethers, 28/C; aged Merino wethers, 10/3 to 15/-. - Fat T/imtos. —A small entry or 1630 compared with 2000 head last week. The quality was fair and prices were well up to schedule rates. In some cases, the price per pound
was up to 12d. Extra prime lamps sold at 13/- to 46/-; extra special heavy lambs, 40/-; prime lambs, 87/to 41/-; medium, 33/6 to 36/6; light, 30/- to 38/-; store, 26/- to 29/-. Fat She op.—-Ten races were penned, a good proportion of which was poor stuff. Too many ewes were present
and not enough wethers. There was also too great a proportion ot rough sheep, Extra prime wethers, made 52/7 prime, 32/6 to 46/6; medium, 3S/6 to 41/9; light, 33/ to 37/3; extra prime ewes, 44/-; prime,, 3ff/B to 36/-; medium, 32/- to 34/9; light, 27/- to 21/6; aged, 21/9 to 25/8. Fat Cattle. —502 head were forward, compared with 650 last week. The proportion of good cattle was not heavy. Bidding at the commencement of the sale, was moderately brisk and throughout was decidedly brighter with an advance of practically 2/per 100 lbs. for good-class animals Extra prime beef made to 39/-' ; prime, from 35/- to 37/-; medium, 32/- ,to 34/; light, 27/6 to 31/; rough, 20/- upwards; prime steers, £l4 t# £ls 12/6; medium, £ll 10/- to £lB 15/-; light, £8 10/- to £ll 5/-; rough, £6 15/- to £8; prime heifers, £8 10/to £lO 5/r; medium, £5 to £8; extra prime cows, £l2 7/6; prime, £7 15/* to £11; medium, £5 10/- to £7 7/6; light, £4 to £5 5/-; aged, inferior, £3 to £3 17/6. Vealers.—A largo entry was forward. Runners, £6 10/-; good vealms, £5; medium, £3 to £3 10/-; good calves, £2 .to £2 15/-; small, 10/- to 25/-.. Store Cattle. —Best cows made £3 to £3 10/-; medium, £2 to £2 15/-; old, £1 to £1 15/-; bulls, £2 to £6 10/-. ' - Dairy Cattle. —Best 2nd, 3rd and 4th culvers (springing) realised £lO to £l3 10/-; medium sorts, £6 10/- to £9 10/-; best springing heifers, £8 10/- to £l2 .10/-; medium sorts, £4 to £7 10/-; poor conditioned cows, and backward calvers, £2 to £4. Fat Pig3.— A large entry came forward. Prices all round were easier than late rates. Choppers made £2 15/- to £6 10/-; light baconers, £3 10/- to £4; heavy, £4 5/- to £4 15/-; extra heavy, £5 5/- (average price per lb , 61d to 7id); light porkers, 44/- to 50/-; heavy, 55/- to 68/-; extra heavy, 67/6 (average price per lb., 6d to Sd). Store Pigs.-—A medium entry, but the market was dull. Weaners, 9/to 14/-; small stores, 18/- to 25/-; medium, 28/- to 35/-; large,, to 48/-
