WAIKANAE SECTIONS.
GOOD ENQUIRY. On Saturday, May 2nd, the Anglican Church schoolroom was barely large enough to accommodate the number of people who attended the auction sale of Waimeha seaside sec•ti'Ons. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, conducting the sale on behalf of Mr. W. H. Field, M.P., report an excellent inquiry, and on the whole, a goou sale, rather less than half 01 the sections offered changing hands either at the auction or shortly alter. The quality >of the sections was rather better than that of those offered at the last sale, held on October 2?th, 1928, inasmuch as a number of them was higher and commanded a splendid view of the sea, with a bold sweep of the beautiful beach, Kapiti Island in the near distance, and wooded mountains eastward, making a picturesque background. A number of these lots elicited keen competition, and spirited bidding, sales being effected at prices on a par with the previous sale. On the other hand quite a keen interest was evinced by buyers in the lower and cosily situated sites, for their dwellings, they evidently being satisfied j with the close proximity of the high ! foredune, with its expansive view, ana the handiness of the beach, with its many attractions. The balance of the sections offered did not reach the vendor's idea of value, so were passed in, but several have since been.sold and a number are being negotiated for.
