KEEPING SUPERPHOSPHATE.

Tests conducted by the South Australian Department of Agriculture show that superphosphate in bags does not deteriorate materially if exposed to weather or held over from one season to another. Experiments were carried, out a few years ago by placing six sacks in an enclosed shed and six in open at each of four experimental farms in the State. The bags in question were stood on dunnage and so placed as to be quite separate from each other. One sack from each stack was withdrawn at two monthly intervals. weighed, and a sample taken for analysis. It was found that even the last, after twelve months’ exposure, had only lost 3.1 per cent, of water soluble phosphate.
