DRENCHING LAMBS.

The practice among sheep-breeders of drenching lambs for internal para- ' sites has by now become an estab- \ lishod practice. Drenches for this ; purpose are prepared and sold by many well-known and reliable firms. While by no means desiring to discourage this practice, because no doubt it is often necessary, and it is at any time a wise precaution, the fact should be emphasised that unless the instruction with the drenches are carefully carried out and every effort is made to keep the lambs in a thriving condition, little or no good will result from their use. It is a well scheduled fact that lambs in a thriving condition offer the strongest resistances to the invasion of lung-worms and other internal parasites. The resistance ex-

hibited by the thriving lamb should be sufficient inducement to the sheepfarmer to provide an ample supply of suitable autumn as well as winter feed.
