NEW USES FOR CASEIN.
That there are almost unlimited opportunities for increasing the use of casein in the manufacturing industries is shown by the announcement of what the newly formed Casein Company of America proposes to turn out. This company will be closely allied with a British concern and will engage in the manufacture and sale of what is known as casein plastics. These are produced in sheets and rods of a variety of colours and are suitable for making all sorts of toilet articles, and in the Imitation of * large number of natural material*, such as Chinese jade, ivory, ebony, amber, etc., and in making all forms of electrical fittings. In fact it seems the possible use is almost, unlimited and that in the near future there will undoubtedly be developed a big demand for the raw product. This augurs well for the dairy industry and will furnish larger outlets as more uses for casein are developed.
