Shannon were drawn to play Levin B at Shannon on Saturday, nut the latter forfeited and it was then arranged that Shannon; would play Weraroa at Levin for the final of the championship, but for some unexplained reason only three Shannon players—Hunt, Miorgan and Johnson—turned up at Levin, and thus a splendid opportunity of securing the championship was lost by having to forfeit. A scratch team was got together and played Weraroa, the three local men contributing 108 runs out of 147 runs for eight wickets. Weraroa registered 111 runs.
