SHANNON GOLF CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The. annual meeting of the shannon Golf Club was held in the Council Chambers on Friday evening, when there was a good attendance of members present, including several ladies. Mr H. A- Seifert presided, in the absence of the president, Mr A. Dinpie.

in his opening remarks Mr Seifert stated the Club ihad had a splendid season and had been fortunate in securing a good course, the best they had had in the history of the club, anti they had again secured same for the coming Reason. During ithe season the Club had played hve matches, winning two and losing toree. Medal matches had been won by Mesdames Johnston and Morgan and Messrs 7 Gagliardi and Grainger. A strong club, financially, bad been built up, and taking it per member be supposed it tQ be the best in the Dominion. He referred to the loss the Club had sustained owing to Messrs Dinnie and Anderson’s departure from the district, but fie was pleased to be able to welcome several new members, ne then called on the secretary (Mr Morgan) to read the balance sheet, which showed a credit balance of £i4 Is sd. NEW MEMBERS.

The following new members were elected;—Mesdaih.es Cronquest, White, Ross, Cole, and Brown, Dr. Mackereth, and Messrs Murray, Moody, Bums, Ridler, Jones, White, Jacobsen, Gillespie, Baird, C. Lee, R. He'--'. Roberts, Brown, Surridge. ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

The following officers were elected for the ensuing season:—President, Mr Johnston; vice-president, Mr A. H. Morgan; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. H. Morgan (re-elected); auditor, Mr J. T. Bovas (re-elected), club captain, Mr H. A. Seifert; committee, Messrs B. Spencer, Gagliardi, Blackwood, Jones, the" secretary and captain and Mesdames Morgan, B. Spencer, Cronquest, Johnston, Cole and Miss Cole; grounds committee, men’s committee; ihandicapper and selector, the secretary and Mr Saxon. OPENING DAY. It was decided that if possible the opening day be Saturday, April 18th, but the matter is to be left in the bands of the committee.
