BOWLING AT FOXTON.
The Foxton green presented a very animated appearance on Wednesday, when seven visiting rinks were present, and had a most enjoyable afternoon’s play. Three rinks from Otaki and four from .Shannon took part.
Mr J. M. Barr (president) welcomed tlie visitors, and expressed the Club’s pleasure at seeing so many present.
The results of play were as follows: Morgan (s), "Shannon 28 v. Christie (s) 13; Barr (s) 20 v. Gunning (s), Shannon, 13; Wilmiot (s), Otaki, 27 v. Bovis (s), Shannon 19; Woods (s) 27 v. Smith (s), Otaki), 17; Satlierley (s), Otaki 28 v. Nye (s) 13; Thomson (sj 20 v. Murray (s), Shannon, 16. At the conclusion o.f play, Mr Freeman, on behalf ol Otaki, and Mr Murray, ’on behalf of Shannon, expressed themselves as. very pleased with the day’s outing, and also spoke appreciatively of the refrestnnents provided by the ladies. Cheers were given, and the singing q! “For they are jolly good fellows” concluded a most enjoyable afternoon.
