SHANNON MAIL BAG ROBBERY.

ARREST IN AUSTRALIA. On his release from the gaol at Goulbowrn, New. South Wales, last week, Douglas Gordon'Hollis was arrested, and later charged at the police Court with having stolen a mail bag and its contents valued at £l3O, the property of the New Zealand Government. According to the police, Hollis. admitted his own complicity in the affair, and offered to give every possible assistance to the New Zealand authorities. The robbery took place near Shannon, New Zealand, in March of last year. It is stated that two men have been arrested in New Zealand in connection with the affair. Hollis was remanded for eight days, pending; the production of the original warrant from the Dominion.
