QUARTERLY MEETING. mie quarterly meeting of the liorownenua county patriotic Society was hem in the Y.M.C.A. rooms "on Wednesday, 18th, the president, Mr'P. W. Goiusnnth being in the chair. There were aisq present Mrs T. F. Giosoii, Messrs w. bai&iay, C S. keedweii and the secretary, )Mr IF. P. Wafkley. Leave or aosence was granted to Mr J, P. Brandon. The National War Funds Council forwarded its weekly reports. -V case of application for indulgence for repayments of a loan was favourably considered.
A letter was received acknowledging receipt qf 10s per week paid to the mother of a partially disabled soldier, who has no other support than his irregular earnings. An acknowledgment of a grant of £ii per week was received from a disabled soldier.
A number of payments of interest and principal were received. A letter was received from the Un-der-Secretary of internal Affairs acknowledging statement to the 31st December.
An application through, the Manawatu Association was received, a grant of £$ being made. The Executive's action in granting a sum qf £lO assistance to a man who was a southern Association's responsibility, was confirmed by that Association, whq refunded the amount. The Auckland Association confirmed the expenditure of a sum of £27 on a man who. was their responsibility. An application from the Auckland Association for relief to the extent of £5 for a man who was the Horowhenua Association responsibility was acceded to
