TOTAL OF 3,530,811 DETAILS OF - THE BREEDS. Details of the cattle in New Zealand, classified according to breeds, have been published by the Government Statistician. They refer to the position at January 31, 1924, and comparison is made with the enumeration three years previously. The statistician remarks that the most noteworthy feature is tne increase shown in dairy breeds. This is. of course, the outcome of comparative market values, beef breeds being less profitable than dairy. The following table gives a rough comparison of the last two seasons in respect of which information in regard to breeds is
