MR SMALL RESIGNS.
FROM PRESIDENCY OF D.F.U. UNION'S DISASSOCIATION PROM "INFLUENCE" At yesterday's meeting of the executive of the Wellington district Dairy Farmers' Union, a letter was received from Mir. P. J. Small, tendering his resignation as president of the Uaion and as a member o.f the executive. The meeting went into committee in discussing the matter, and upon resuming in ope"n meeting it was decided that Mr. Small's resignation be accepted with sincere regret, and that the executive place on record his valuable services as president. On the motion of Mr. Williams, the vice-president, Mr. Campbell, was elected president till the end of the * financial year. Mr. Campbell thanked the executive for placing its confidence in him, and assured the meeting that he would do his best to further the interests of the Union.
Later in the meeting Miv Williams moved: "That this executive of the Dairy Farmers' Unio"a disassociates itself from the tactics employed by certain outside influence in connection with, the Dairy Control Board, which may detrimentally affect the Union." Mr. Williams said that he could say a lot about the matter if he chose. He had told Mr. Small that personally he did not approve of Mr. Small's attitude in certain matters, but there were certain influences at work that were -not in the interests of the Union. The motion was carried.
