An unusual farm machine to be ?een working at tfhe Central Development Farm at present is a muho-bindfr, the object of. which is to bind the green crop Into bundles so as to fa;, cilitate handling. The maoh'-ie, which is designed particularly to hqnest crops giwyn in rows, and not broadcast, is of considerably different design to that of the ordinary binder, and takes a strip of about two f eet, gathering the stalks in between two broad projecting teeth, and carrying them, in an upright position to the back of the where it is tied and cast off. The binder, which is by no means a recent invention, is undoubtedly a labour-saving device, but it is not a small man's madhine.
