ALLOTMENT OF RACING PERMITS.
COUNTRY QLUBS HjENEFIT. BUT NOTHING FOR LEVIN. WELLINGTON, Feb. 17. Cabinet, at its meeting to-day, considered the recommendation of the Minister of Internal Affairs .(Hon. R. F. Bollard) for the allocation of ?.l new totalisator permits (12 for racing clubs and nineteen for trotting clubs) provided in the Gaming Amendment Act, whose passage through the House of Representatives last session created a. stonewall, which Will probably be long 'remembered. All of the new ra'cing permits go to country clubs and their allocation is as follows: RACING CLUBS. Waipapakauri, Dargaville, Whangarei, Frankton, Matamata, Rotorua, Te Kuiti, (Waimarino, Waiapu (Ruatoxea), and Motueka, each, one day; Hamilton two days. Total 12 days. TROTTING CLUBS. Wellington three days, Invercargill two days, Northland (Whangarei), Waikato, Cambridge, Thames, Te Aroha,. Taranaki, Hawke’s Bay, Hawera, South Wairarapa, Timaru, Wyndham, Oamaru, Ashburton and Nelson, each one day; total 19 days.
