So strong was her desire to lead this life that she saved Sixty dollars, and, giving her parent to understand that she was going m ,a seaside resort with a menu *«* * j holiday, she went to tne st. Legis, me aristocratic hotel of the city. After her stay there she is unable to pay her bill and a man pays it for her but on one condition, and that is that she poses as his. wife for one day. She consents and they depart for the man’s home, and a host of friends descend on them for the week-end, so they are forced to keep up the deception for longer than was anticipated. Some interesting sidelights on the manners and morals of the idle r c soon awaken the girl to a sense of the shallowness of it all, and she returns to her home and true love in the person of her adoring policeman friend.
